All South African bowlers possessed wicket with Duanne Olivier (4 wickets), Dale Steyn (3 wickets), Kagiso Rabada (2 wickets), & Vernon Philander (1 wicket). Olivier picked the wicket of leading scorer Sarfraz Ahmed & Rabada picked the wickets of Shan Masood and Asad Shafiq.

Quinton de Kock (59 runs in 78 balls) joined Faf du Plessis for sixth wicket and added 51 runs together to total. South Africa reached 431 runs losing 10 wickets in 124.1 overs in the end of second day.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Amir & Shaheen Afridi both players picked 4 wickets and Mohammad Abbas & Shan Masood picked a wicket each. Shaheen Afridi picked the wickets of Faf du Plessis & Temba Bavuma. Amir picked the wicket of Quinton de Kock.

Pakistan started second innings and lost first two wickets in 10 runs & 27 runs in 3.3 & 10.1 overs of Imam-ul-Haq and Azhar Ali. For third wicket, Shan Masood & Asad Shafiq jointly scored 132 runs for partnership. Shan Masood (61 runs in 110 balls) got out in 37.5 overs caught by de Kock for Steyn as 159/3. Asad Shafiq (88 runs in 118 balls with 12 4s and a six) got out 45.4 overs caught by de Kock for Philander. Babar Azam arrived in 38th over and played until 68th over and scored 72 runs in 118 balls with 12 4s and a six and got out caught by Amla in Rabada’s bowling. Rest of the Pakistani batsmen displayed a poor batting. Pakistan finally reached 294/10 in 70.4 overs and had a total of 177 runs plus 294 runs together 471 runs leading to a easy target for South Africa of 41 runs South Africa vs Pakistan (2018 – 2019) Second Test Match.

South African bowlers did a fair job in restricting Pakistan with Dale Steyn & Kagiso Rabada picked 4 wickets and Vernon Philander & Duanne Olivier both picked a wicket each.
