Australia squad includes Marcus Harris, Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Travis Head, Tim Paine (c & wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon.  Players on bench were Peter Siddle, Chris Tremain, and Mitchell Marsh.

Indian playing XI were Murali Vijay, Lokesh Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.Substitutes are Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Parthiv Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umesh Yadav in this Australia vs India (2018 – 2019) First Test Match.

Travis Head (72 runs in 167 balls), Peter Handscomb (34 runs in 93 balls), and Nathan Lyon (24 runs in 28 balls with two 4s and a six) contributed to the total score of 235 runs losing 10 wickets in 98.4 overs.

Again, India used five bowlers restricting Australian batsmen. Jasprit Bumrah & Ravichandran Ashwin both bowlers picked 3 wickets. Ishant Sharma & Mohammed Shami picked 2 wickets each.

India arrived for second innings on the third day losing first wicket of Murali Vijay (18 runs in 53 balls) for 63 runs in 18.2 overs. Lokesh Rahul (44 runs in 67 runs with three 4s and six) lost his wicket in 24.2 overs when score was 76/2. Captain Virat Kohli (34 runs in 104 balls) got out as third wicket 147/3. Cheteshwar Pujara (40 runs in 127 balls not out) and Ajinkya Rahane were batting in the end of the third day.

Bumrah is the one that turned the match by picking two important wickets of Shaun Marsh and Tim Paine and restricted their scoring to 291 runs all out in 119.5 overs.
